For the high-power and low-switching-frequency converter applied in wind power, the traditional PI (Proportion Integration) based control strategies have insuperable drawbacks in the issue of the subsynchronous oscillation for the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). Based on the necessary mechanism analysis, the adoption of a new strategy, which means the model prediction strategy in this paper, is designed for the rotor subsynchronous current control considering its advantages of suppressing the subsynchronous oscillation, reducing the converter switching frequency and multi-objective optimization ability. In addition, the proposed strategy can effectively improve the dynamic characteristics of DFIG system because PI regulators are eliminated then.
