The data in the near-field region around radar is taken by a wide beam, and the imaging algorithm for targets in the coverage of beam is studied. The difficulty of near-field imaging is that the assumption of plane wave is no longer established, wavefront can only be processed as spherical wave. There is no particularity in the near-field imaging scene. The back projection algorithm is universally applicable to any scene. Cartesian coordinate imaging grid will significantly limit the imaging range. Modified back projection algorithm with polar coordinate image grid makes full use of recorded data and expand the imaging range. The simulation results show that the modified algorithm is feasible and effective, the image of scene can be reconstructed with high range resolution and cross range resolution.
