An interaction of normal shock wave-grid turbulence interaction was experimentally investigated using a counter-driver shock tube (CD-ST) which can control experimental conditions such as Ms, Mt and interaction length independently. In this present research, characteristics of shock wave attenuation due to passing grid and grid turbulence field in the counter-driver shock tube are discussed. These characteristics is necessary to carry out quantitative evaluation of shock wave-turbulence interaction phenomena. Visualizations of the shock wave propagating through the grid turbulence was also carried out. Images obtained by a high speed visualization system shows the deformation of normal shock wave due to interaction with grid turbulence. The "wrinkle" state reported in the numerical studies were confirmed in the experiment.
