Due to the ease of gain selection and flexibility in frequency and Q-tuning, Operational Trans-conductance Amplifiers (OTAs) based amplifiers and filter banks are attractive signal conditioning options in many hardware applications like impact measurement and analysis. This paper has discussions on the design and development of a Data Acquisition (DAQ) System for the impact and vibration analysis on-board a vehicle. The DAQ System presented in this paper uses OTA based amplifier, filter, DACs and microcontroller. The gain value and filter cut-off frequencies can be optimally selected by the microcontroller via DACs. The design and development is already initiated.
