摘要

It is predicted that electronic book readers will become the mainstream of ways of reading in the future, and this sign has been seen in China recently. According to statistics from Taobao Tmall (Fig. 1), China's biggest online-shopping website, the amount of people purchasing Kindle Paperwhite4 is more than 5000 per month. In this research, we performed a detailed usability assessment on the Kindle Paperwhite to see whether it conforms to the usage habits of Chinese users. Then we compared the Kindle Paperwhite with another e-book reader designed at home, to explore the differences in interaction design and design style. Finally, we summarized the weakness of Kindle Paperwhite and made our suggestions. This research hopes to give some new insights into e-book readers design for the Chinese market.
