The goal of the DARPA/Tri-Service-sponsored Rapid Prototyping ofApplication-Specific Signal Processors (RASSP) program is to reduce thecost and time to develop and manufacture signal processors by at least afactor of four. Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories' (ATL)approach to reaching this goal is based on three thrusts: methodology;model-year architecture; and infrastructure (enterprise). The AdvancedTechnology Laboratories' RASSP team-composed of an alliance ofcompanies-implemented the first baseline RASSP system, which advancestoday's state-of-the-art by a factor of >2X. Additional developmentsunderway will provide further benefits and will demonstrate the 4Ximprovements in cost and time-to-market
