The jack-up drilling platform is an important equipment for offshorepetroleum industry. Before its operation, local engineering geologysurvey must be carried out for the pile leg standing feasibility analysis.The API RP 2A was adopted before, but the pile leg punch-throughaccidents happened occasionally, which has resulted in cost losses andsafety hazard. To solve this problem, the methods of spud leg’s drivingdepth prediction and punch-through potential analysis have beenresearched. The techniques can be a reference for project design and fieldoperation.
