摘要

The major fires and where there is significant technical difficulties and challenges were analyzed based on the trends of rapid development of high-rise building in Asian region, particularly in big cities during recent years. The fire setting and performance-based functional zoning, application of elevator evacuation, gravity water supply and other aspects of technology solutions strategy in Guangzhou West Tower were discussed in detail. Finally, under the Total Fire Safety Concept, new technology and equipment such as distributed firefighting systems should be developed. The power and performance of existing fire engines, pumps, firefighting equipment, artillery and other systems should be improved and upgraded. Fireproof materials with the advantage of safe, efficient, lightweight features should be researched and developed. Firefighting helicopter, fire robot, fixed and mobile firefighting equipment modules and other advanced features should be applied in a comprehensive three-dimensional firefighting, rescue, command, reconnaissance, information transmission and ancillary techniques and tactics.
