The possibility of energy conservation through the application ofcogeneration methods in homes or small businesses in Greece is explored.Two alternatives are compared. The first situation is where a hot waterheater is used and electricity is bought from a utility to meet energyneeds. The second alternative is the use of a cogenerator to produce hotwater and electricity, with all excess electricity produced sold back tothe electric company. For a small business and a home-owner the twoalternatives are compared to see if it would make sense to usecogeneration
