The measurement of instantaneous frequency distribution (IFD) isproposed and prototype measuring equipment constructed to obtain thecharacteristics of wideband disturbance and to evaluate the effects ofsuch disturbance on wideband digital communications. We propose an IFDmeasurement approach in which a wideband signal is received, and thedistribution of the detected voltage corresponding to the signal'sinstantaneous frequency is measured. This paper describes how theequipment works with a measuring example, and highlights the equipment'sfeatures, applications, and utility
