The objective of this work was to validate and demonstrate a computational simulation capability to predict dynamic X-ray images relevant to solid-propellant rocket motors. Previous developmental work was reviewed and extended to practical application. Theoretical formulation was defined. A transformation program was developed to utilize finite element geometry. Experimental data were employed to validate the capability to predict X-ray images. Finally, the simulation was demon-strated through application to a full-scale solid-propellant rocket motor. Results of the study indicate a viable capability for predicting the quality of X-ray images using available finte element geometries.
