摘要

Some ceramic materials have proved to be particularly suitable for applicaton in mechanical seals as sliding and construction materials. Depending on the application and operation conditions in mechanical seals, synthetic carbon, metals, carbides, metal oxides and polymers are used. Figure 1 shows a possible classification of sliding materials.
