This paper presents analysis and implementation of various control strategies utilized for the position and speed control of DC servomotor-starting with the basic introduction of different techniques, namely pole placement, linear quadratic regulator model predictive control techniques and combined MPC LQR robust control strategy. This paper illustrates the mathematical modelling of DC servomotor and also shows the implementation of the above-mentioned techniques. Later, this paper concludes the results obtained after the implementation of controllers, and the performance of these controllers is also compared in terms of robustness towards external disturbance.
