摘要

To examine the underwater acoustic response of a propeller mounted at the aft of a ship or a submarine, the characteristics of the upstream inflow must be accurately represented. This investigation examined the effect of a duct on the velocity field at the propeller plane. The Computational Fluid Dynamics method is applied to acquire the non-uniform velocity field at the propeller plane of submarines with or without a duct, and the characteristics of the inflow harmonics, the turbulence intensity and the turbulence length scale are then analyzed carefully.
