A mobile communication system has been proposed in Japan that is based on decentralized base stations with autonomous radio link control (DCM system). In this DCM system, all base stations and mobile stations access a full-duplex control channel independently. Signals for location identification and registration are transmitted cyclically from base stations. A control channel access scheme for the DCM system is presented. Its suitability for application to the DCM system is demonstrated by an analysis of the scheme's loss probability characteristics.
