摘要

Simulation modelling has become a widely recognised management tool used by many manufacturing companies. Many of these companies have endorsed a policy that new investments on production resources and layout alternations must be subjected to some forms of evaluation through using simulation. When a simulation model is required, the process of creating the model depends very much on the software that one uses, his experience in simulation, and the way that the problem is analysed. This has givenrise to inconsistent approach employed to tackle a simulation problem. This paper, which is the result of a collaborated project with a company, discusses the benefits of having a generic consistent approach to monitor the process of how a simulationmodel should be built by using forms, IDEF, and flow charts.
