摘要

Background/Objectives. In order to minimize multicultural, technical and language barriers, 2D/3D visualization software and a relational database have been used to compile more than 10 years of site investigation and remediation site data. Continuing use of these tools has broken down barriers for technical understandings that previously caused difficulties for both local and international Stakeholders to reach agreements. The goals of proper field investigation and remediation work scopes as well as the interpretation of their results have been greatly assisted with 2D/3D visualization of unsaturated and saturated subsurface soil conditions. Most importantly, this approach for data management and visualization outputs provides easy-to-understand information and graphics for regulatory and legal negotiations. Finally, these tools have resulted in the development of a Stakeholder-accepted conceptual site model (CSM) that has been used to drive logical, mutually acceptable risk-based decisions that are leading to final resolution and restoration of the site environmental conditions.
