Growing of flower crops i.e., aster, gladioli, tuberose and marigold as intercrops in S_(36) mulberry did not affect the growth of mulberry, as it had no significant effect on the number of shoots and leaves and shoot height compared to the pure mulberry crop. This cropping system did not have any significant ill effects even on the quality of leaf. Indeed, the LER and BCR were higher when tube rose was grown as intercrop.
