In this paper we study viscoelastic particulate flow by using a fictitious domain/wave-like equation methodology combining Stokes solvers a la Uzawa, a wave-like equation treatment of the advection, and the rigid body motion projection via a first order accurate operator-splitting scheme. In the 2D numerical simulations with Oldroyd-B fluid, two particles settling side by side attract and approach each other, and then the doublet rotates until the line of centers is aligned with the falling direction, which agrees with experiments very well.
