摘要

This paper improves and generalizes the mathematical analysis of a two-layer shallow water system presented in Chatelon and Orenga [1]. We give an existence theorem for small data, adapting the techniques used in Chatelon and Orenga [2,3] to study the one-layer case. The main difficulty comes from the fact that some L{sup}2-estimates of the thickness of both layers are required to show the existence of solution. In the one-layer case these estimates are obtained once the existence of solution, with weaker regularity for the thickness, is shown.
