Ift has been 20 years since the Pingwu EHV transmission system was put into operation in 1981, the construction of the EHV transmission - translation engineering projects have made big progress in our country. By the end of 2000, the number of 500kV transformers and shunt reactors in operation in 124 substation were 713 (single phase: 602,three phase 111) with sum power 188078MVA and 230 with sum power 11230 MVA respectively, in which the number of imported transformer and reactor were 386 (single phase 326,three phase 60)with sum power 108019MVA and 88with sum power 4400MVar respectively. The number and power of imported transformers were 54.1% and 57.4% of sum total ,the number and power of imported reactors were 38.3% and 39% of the sum total, respectively. In the 106 transformers of northwest network, there were only 5 imported transformers with sum power 1375MVA from Romanian and Austrian in the way of exchange of commodities. Most of reactors were also domestic. Here We will mainly analyze the operating state of imported transformers and reactors.
