In this paper the modeling of a realistic environment of road traffic scenarios is presented. The model serves as a basis for a new wave propagation tool for inter-vehicle communications. A proper modeling of the environment implies an accurate characterization of the dynamic road traffic and a realistic description of the vehicle's vicinity. For an accurate model of dynamic road traffic and realistic driving behavior, different individual characteristics of vehicles are taken into account. Characteristics such as desired velocity or safety margin are determined stochastically within certain limits. It is therefore possible to create complex traffic scenarios without the need of having detailed and extensive traffic data of selected roads. Additionally the road surrounding is generated stochastically, depending on morphographic data. The result is a proper traffic scenario, which serves as input data for wave propagation calculations.
