AWMA panel on the “Economic and Technical Viability of Various MSW, WTE Waste to Energy Thermal Treatment Processes ” for AWMA Annual Meeting June 26-29 2007 Pittsburgh PA
Environmentalists often reject waste-to-energy WTE, and the use of the biofraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) as a renewable fuel. This environmental intransigence and rejection of WTE, often has the opposite effect and results in the continuance of our wasteful, polluting, landfills. They advocate zero waste policies, however zero waste disposal, using WTE waste to energy, is a far more realistic solution to our solid waste disposal problems.
