Cadmium is known today as a very toxic heavy metal. In environment cadmium is able to accumulate microorganisms, in plants entering via nutrition in the animals and in human body. We can find cadmium in plant in variable amounts , from 0,01 to 7 ppm and the content can become higher by administration of phosphor fertilizers and by irrigation with waste waters. The normal cadmium content in plants is between 0,1 si 0,8 ppm, values higher than 1 ppm are considered as toxic. When the soil is containing more than 2-15 ppm Cd the concentration in the vegetation is also as high. The cadmium content in soil samples prelevated from different areas from Banat region present variations between 0,23 ppm (Cherestur area and Sannicolau Mare area) and 2,18 ppm (Sasca Montana area). 4. Cadmium is having a very high mobility, and it is very easy absorbed by plants.
