At present time, some interlining fabrics were found that have superior performance properties (e. g. suitable stiffness, crease resist, soft handle and good wash fastness). In order to improve physical properties of cotton fabrics for producing interlining fabrics, various kinds of chemicals such as cross-linking, softening, stiffening and water repellent agent have been used. Additionally, acidic catalyst should be presented for cross-linking of cellulosic fabrics. In this work different kinds of catalyst were used in mixture of finishing resins to elucidate the role of catalyst and obtain better results. On the other hand the time and temperature of curing were varied to improve the physical properties of interlining fabrics. The physical properties of interlining cotton fabrics including bending length, wettability time, whiteness and crease recovery angle were measured under standard conditions to estimate the influence of catalyst type and curing process in this special finishing.
