摘要

A general mass transfer based model was proposed for predicting emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from arbitrary number layer building materials with double surfaces and the VOC instantaneous distributions in materials in 2003. But the validation and applications were not given clearly. So this paper aims at the validation and applications of the model. Two sets of experimental data in the literature are used to compare with the results estimated by the model and satisfied agreement is observed. As an application of the model, indoor air quality interaction between two sides of a building material is studied. Furthermore, according to normalized analysis and calculation by the model the potential error of Kumar and Little's double layer model is discussed.
