In investigations performed in several countries a somewhat strange behaviour in shock wave sensitivity of small charges with different confinements was observed. The charges consisted of PETN as explosive and steel as confinement. In this work we found first attempts of an explanation by simulating the tests with the computer code AUTODYN.
