The empirical research of 'commerce+tourism'development pattern in rebuilding the old city of Xi'an-taking the renovation projects in West avenue and Shuncheng lane as examples
Combining the successful rebuilding projects of the old center in the city of Xi'an, this article analyzes the pattern of "commerce + tourism" in real estate development. In rebuilding the old city which is often tourism destination, the authors argue that the characteristics of commerce and tourism should be emphasized according to the places and times in order to maximize the benefits from rebuilding, on the bases of considering the city function positioning and the appeasement of local people's demands, and on the premise of protection for the urban style and features and the environment of the city.
