With the development of rock mechanics, people improve their cognition about surrounding rock classification, the existing classification standards have some problems and can not receive extensive application at the process of exploiting underground mine. Therefore, consulting the railway, road and anchor support design criterion, contrasting the details of surrounding rock classification, the amendment suggestion was put forward about scoring criterion of basic classification and amendment factors. According to the practical situation of metal mine, the safety factors under different depths were simulated using FLAC3D, as the influencing factors of surrounding rock classification, the depth and hole span joined to receive the rock stable capability list which contains the range of rock safety factors at all levels and large and small span. And take Gujiatai ironstone as an example, combining with the amended rock mass classification, comprehensive evaluation has been work out on surrounding rock situation of the whole mine.
