This paper presents our study over the effects of atmospheric aerosols caused by gas emission on the net surface radiation, Rn, including net short-wave radiation, Rns and net long-wave radiation, Rnl. Using observational data of incoming solar radiation reaching the land surface over 14 meteorological stations and MODIS data, the experimental results showed that incoming solar radiation reaching the land surface of North Vietnam can be extracted from MODIS with Root Mean Square Error, RMSE by 22.56 W/m~2. Atmospheric aerosol reduces net short-wave radiation averagely -74.72 W/m~2. In contrast, net long-wave radiation under the influence of aerosol will increase averagely +12.41 W/m~2. This causes increasing land surface temperature at urban residential areas up to 0,0487°C that has been quantified from MODIS satellite image.
