摘要

Mining is active economic activities in the Mindanao. It is noticeably visible through the number of mining companies in the region both large scale and small scale. In Caraga Region, there are around more than 100 companies (MGB-13 Tenement Report) in the area and a number of artisanal small scale mining both registered, organized and illegal. This industry is an economic driver of the region that provides a lucrative means of living to the people, taxes to the government and royalty to the community. The social, cultural and environmental side of the mining industry are also taken care by NGOs and oversight agency of the government for impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation to advocate equitable benefits and responsible mining. This dynamics implies that mining is a multi-stakeholders industry. The participation of all the key players with different preferences, interest, backgrounds and beliefs is a challenge. This paper presents a web-based mapping service for the stakeholders in the mining industry. It provides valuable information for decision making such as tenement boundary resolutions, host community identification, land-use identification, hazard assessment, and species distribution. The system will serve as a framework for visualization and rendering of map-based information with functionality for collective mapping service using mobile technology. The system will serve as the mining portal in Mindanao in which stakeholders may converge to advocate responsible mining in the region.
