The traditional calculation methods of the turbine governing stage variable operation condition need to apply the governing stage general characteristic curves supplied by factory. In this paper, based on the currently existing governing stage general characteristic algorithm model, a new algorithm which has a higher computational precision and small number of convergence is proposed. The steam program is compiled by VC++, which could identify area and assemble steam calculation processor of known variable automatically, and calculate necessary data of the general characteristic curves of governing stage quickly, then the origin software could fit the curve of characteristic curves of steam turbine governing stage. Take 200MW steam turbine for example, which provided governing stage characteristic data, the accuracy of this calculation method is verified. The research results in this paper avoid the dependence on calculation methods of governing stage variable operation condition on the general characteristic curves supplied by factory, build foundation for the independent and complete calculation methods of the turbine governing stage variable operation condition.
