In conclusion, we have extended the principle of white light interferometry, used in conventional fiber interferometers, to two-mode fiber strain and temperature sensing. Two different demodulation techniques are presented: namely, constant phase technique for strain determination, and spectral dip monitoring for temperature sensing. This method provides absolute, real-time outputs and is independent of source intensity and spectral fluctuations.
