The rapid growth of the economies in Asia during the last decades is one of the economic miracles of the century. It is recognized as a model for other areas of the world which are less developed than this region. Such economic growth has meant the emergence of new and fascinating markets in the world. It continues adding to the importance of this area whose growth was led for many years by Japan. Although Japan's share of the Asian PU-market has decreased from 60% in 1985 to 28% in 1995, it still remains the most important PU market in Asia with a volume of about half a million tons.
