摘要

The connection of subscribers to the local access network is called the Local Loop or the socalled last mile".The amount for this closer to the subscriber segment is two thirds of the overall investments in today's telecommunications infrastructue.It is very important for all service providers to use this infrastructure furthermore ecoomicaally over a numberr of years (10 to 20 years).New mass-market applications for private interactive services are necessary,e.g. video-on-demand,teleshopping,electronic commerce,teleworking or telelearning to make communications easily accessible at reasonable prices.
