We observed high-resolution photoassociation spectra of laser- cooled ytterbium atoms in the 1{sup left}S{sub}0-3{sup left}P{sub}1 intercombination line. The rotational splitting of the vibrational levels could be resolved due to the narrow line width of the spectra.
