Our industry must pursue a risk-taking atmosphere when considering new emerging technology and processes. Our efforts must be directed toward a pro-active, not a re-active clean-up mode. We now have the technology to use our waste by-products (sludge) beneficially as a feed ingredient. Drying sludge is an economically viable step in the waste treatment process that can not only create a marketable product, but will help in preserving our limited landfill space, thus, allowing us to maintain a healthy environment.
