摘要

This paper describes a project to assess and improve the quality of student information at a state university which combines process control and improvement with error detection and correction. A major emphasis of the project was an entity resolution process designed to consolidate redundant student records. Establishing a method to monitor data quality over time in order to support a quality process that responds to changes in the environment was a secondary focus. The project resulted in improved error detection and the development of a data quality metadata warehouse as well as a process to automate, save, and display successive data quality assessments.
