摘要

This paper intends to evaluate and validate SNMP's architecture model decentralization (Simple Network Management Protocol), used for Internet network management. The distribution is done through the use of distinct multi-managers which are independent and distributed in different machines. Another goal of this research is to apply to the model the emphasis to the reception of event report (Traps/ Informs) rather than the polling technique usually done. The Adoption of these techniques enable the increase of network-management efficiency, reaching: overhead decrease in management stations; simultaneous management tasks on each manager; decrease of time in order to solve problems; and increase of environment trust level. The study of this viability was accomplished through the evaluation of the use of 6 prototypes developed in Java language. Traps' filtration is made according to pre-determined rules constant in a sixth application, named Discriminator. This is based on detailed rules described in the x734 norm to OSI management ambient.
