The effective thermal conductivity of a three-phase system consisting of a close random packing of mono- and poly-disperse spherical and aspherical particles partially saturated by both wetting and non-wetting liquid were determined computationally by solving the Laplace equation on 3D computer-reconstructed porous media, and experimentally by the transient hot wire method. Correlations suitable for the estimation of the effective conductivity of three-phase systems for engineering calculations were established.
