There are many examples of remote areas where oilfield drilling is undertaken Western Site Technologies Inc. (WST) has had experience in many areas world wide, however our main scope of treatment has taken place in the Northern Alberta and the North West territories regions of the Alberta Petroleum basin. The Alberta petroleum basin is mature and any new prospects explored by Western Canadian companies tend to be located in areas and formations that represent difficult drilling conditions. An example of this situation is the active Belly River play, with its sensitive shales. Advanced recovery methods in mature fields often involve horizontal or inclined holes, particularly in the heavy oil regions.
