We proposed here to investigate a naturally arsenic (As) enriched soil using laboratory experiments (rhizoboxes and microcosms). After a characterisation of the arsenic repartition in soil using sequential extractions, the study focused on As transfer in two plants: a fern (Pteris vittata) L. and a tomato species (Lycospersicon esculenturn Mill.). Phosphate addition was also tested in order to highlight a potential risk linked to the use of fertilizers. The second part of the study investigates As dynamics: earthworms by their bburrowing and casting activiies were assumed to influence As availability. Indeed, earthworms may induce a modification of As speciation in the systern Main results show a significant As accumulation in the plants studied as well as a clear influence of phosphate addition. Nevertheless, impact of earthworm bioturbation on As moility seems to be quite limited.
