The increase in the demand for energy expected for the next years has impulse the international organizations to consider different alternatives to cover the future necessities of energy without environment damage. The nuclear energy is a reliable alternative since large amount of energy can be produced without the adverse environmental effect that follows the use of coal or petroleum. Although renewable energy sources offer similar possibilities to nuclear energy, the economy efficiency is relevant to use this technology for power generation. In the last years, international organizations has been coordinated the development of a new generation of reactors that will be produce full reliable and inexpensive energy in safe and friendly environmental way. The operation conditions in this new-concept fusion reactors are often quite demanding and sometimes the elevated temperatures combined with high doses of irradiation offer new challenges to the technology.
