After an introduction about IEHK some information is given about iron ore sintering and dioxin, stressing modelling and simulation after a lot of expensive tests in labs and different industries. Then results are added about our research to minimize fine dust, research about DR, SR and BF with new results to bring down the CO2 output with new charging systems and gas flow modals and a new and a new subject of our group together with 16 different departments of RWTH Aachen University and others of a new way of steel research “Steel- ab initio” for high manganese Steels. For all such new research more detailed information is needed out of the production way. Therefore in this main part of the lecture the possibilities to get fast measurement readings are discussed e.g. by Laser (CARS and LIBS) and FTIR-measurements in situ out of Lab-Simulators and e.g. at BF in the raceway and of the top gas: temperature, gas- and particle composition, melts, slags and gas of EAF and just new research on BOF.
