A series of siloxane Gemini surfactants, a, b, c and their acrylates, A, B and C, were synthesized via poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)(MW=200, 600,1000) and polydimethylsiloxane as the main starting materials. Gemini A, B and C were adopted as the grafting monomers of linear low density polyethylene(LLDPE), and grafting reaction was carried out by melt reactive extrusion procedure. Their surface properties were characterized with measuring contact angle. The surface tension of siloxane Gemini containing different molecular weight of PEO is individually 43.21 mN·m~(-1), 46.69mN·m~(-1) and 47.89mN·m~(-1). The contact angle is individually 85.6°, 90.5° and 99.5°. Thermal properties of graft copolymers were studied by DSC. The crystalline temperatures of graft copolymers is individually 108.2°C, 108.5°C and 108.9°C. The contact angles was found to increase with the length of PEO and the hydrophilic property of the graft copolymers was better than the pure LLDPE(103°). The crystalline temperatures of graft copolymers were faster than that of the pure LLDPE (103.05°C).
