Beam steering is widely used in highly directional antenna systems and is generally done by using phase shifters or by changing the antenna elements. In this paper, a different technique for beam steering is presented. An antenna with a dispersive superstrate is able to steer the beam effectively. With this system, beam is steered 17° within 52 MHz bandwidth. The system is analyzed using CST Microwave Studio.
