摘要

In this paper, an improved Vivaldi antenna with low profile and unidirectional pattern is presented. By etching grooves on the antenna, we get a compact Vivaldi antenna element. Two arms of which are bended and the antenna is folded to form a low profile UWB antenna. The studies of the behavior of the proposed antenna reveal that the pattern of the antenna is stable over a ultrawideband of 0.78GHz-13.7GHz. While its profile height is decreased about 50%. The lower profile makes the proposed antenna a better candidate for UWB application.
