The media are indispensable creator of opinions and conductors of various informational materials to segments of the public. The development of media and communication technologies leads to new methods. Media landscape is getting more and more complicated over the past twenty years. Most of the media that occurred during this period became known as the "new media". This paper will discuss and will explain topics such as media psychology, advertising, persuasion, children's experience of television, the Internet and socialization. Topic "Women in media" has been particularly emphasized for the sake of explanation of the influence which the media has levied, and which has been refered to the standpoint of the women through their physical appearance. As a consequence, it is assumed that the women consume more energy and money for obtaining and maintaining a perfect beauty instead on their spiritual and intellectual development. In this way, media has been illustrated as a powerful mean of manipulation with both, positive and negative effects. Main objective of this paper is to show the influence of the media on social behavior and the changes which are driven by the influence of the new media.
