The dynamic deformation process of Wangxia dangerous rock pillar W1 is studied on the basis of geological survey and field monitoring.The dangerous rock, located in Liangping Town of Wushan County in Chongqing, was cut into cylinder shapes by fissures.The lithology of the dangerous rock body is thick layer siliceous argillaceous limestone with flint, while the lithology of its foundation bed is siltstone, clay rock and seam, which forms a rigid upper layer and soft lower layer structure.The results indicates that the displacement deformation curve of the dangerous rock pillar can be divided into four stages, including early accumulated deformation, uniform deformation, accelerated deformation and critical accelerated deformation.The special geologic structure and environment provides a geologic base for the deformation and failure of dangerous rock pillars.And the effect of human activities and rainfall is conspicuous.
