TLPLC had been introduced as surgical option for predominantly ventral spinal cord compression caused by intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) in 2004 (1). Especially dogs suffering from Hansen type II IVDD characterized by chronic-progressive dorsal protrusion of the annulus fibrosus may benefit from TLPLC. In those cases, TLPLC facilitates access to the ventral spinal canal and allows spinal cord decompression by minimizing spinal cord manipulation. The outcome following TLPLC has been described in alimited number of publications (1-3). Outcome after TLPC will be described here as 1. Outcome with regard to achieved slot morphometry and spinal cord decompression. 2. Outcome with regard to spinal stability. 3. Outcome with regard to neurological status.
